Plot

Yaariyan 2 is a 2023 Hindi-language coming-of-age romantic drama, a spiritual successor to the 2014 film Yaariyan and a remake of the Malayalam film Bangalore Days. Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the film centers around three cousins—Ladli (Divya Khosla Kumar), Shikhar (Yash Dasgupta), and Bajrang (Pearl V Puri)—who share a deep bond from childhood. Each cousin has distinct aspirations, and the story follows their individual journeys as they navigate love, friendship, and personal challenges after moving to a bustling city. Ladli, who dreams of an artistic life, is caught in a love triangle, torn between her ambitions and her feelings. Shikhar, an adrenaline junkie, deals with the emotional aftermath of a past love, while Bajrang, a carefree and fun-loving guy, struggles to balance his personal desires with family responsibilities. The film weaves in romantic subplots, including characters played by Anaswara Rajan, Priya Prakash Varrier, and Meezaan Jafri, adding complexity to the cousins’ lives. As they encounter love, heartbreak, and self-realization, the cousins come to understand the importance of family and friendship, finding solace in their unbreakable bond. Despite its focus on youthful aspirations and relationships, Yaariyan 2 failed to make an impact at the box office, struggling to resonate with audiences.
