Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue is a disaster thriller set against the backdrop of the 1989 Raniganj coalfield collapse in West Bengal. The film follows Jaswant Singh Gill (played by Akshay Kumar), an engineer who is determined to rescue a group of miners trapped underground after a disastrous cave-in. As the coal mine collapses, over 60 miners are trapped deep beneath the surface, cut off from the outside world. The situation is dire, with limited oxygen, rising water levels, and diminishing hope. While the local authorities scramble to find a solution, Gill steps forward with an innovative but risky rescue plan, defying the odds and pushing himself to the limit to save the miners. His determination, courage, and technical expertise drive the high-stakes rescue operation. The film explores themes of human resilience, teamwork, and the spirit of survival. Tensions rise as time runs out, and each attempt to save the miners brings new challenges.
