Plot

Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan is a 2023 Hindi-language comedy film and a direct sequel to Khichdi: The Movie (2010), directed by Aatish Kapadia. The film brings back the iconic, hilariously dysfunctional Parekh family, led by Hansa (Supriya Pathak), her husband Praful (Rajeev Mehta), their well-meaning but bumbling father-in-law Babuji (Anang Desai), and sister-in-law Jayshree (Vandana Pathak). This time, they are embroiled in an absurdly funny international escapade. The story kicks off when Himanshu (played by Jamnadas Majethia), the family’s well-meaning but clueless member, becomes entangled in a bizarre diplomatic mix-up. He unintentionally sets off a chain of events that leads to the Parekh family being tasked with an international mission involving the fictional country of Paanthukistan. The mission is as ridiculous as it sounds, with a lot of misunderstandings, silly antics, and slapstick humor. As the Parekhs navigate the strange customs and politics of Paanthukistan, their chaotic and often nonsensical approach to problem-solving only makes matters worse, leading to a series of comedic mishaps. Through all the confusion, the family’s unique bond and endearing quirks shine through.
