Plot

Jhund follows the inspiring journey of Vijay Borade (Amitabh Bachchan), a retired sports teacher who finds purpose in helping underprivileged youth from the slums of Nagpur. Vijay witnesses the challenges faced by the young residents—plagued by poverty, crime, and lack of opportunity—and believes that sports, especially football, can help them channel their energy and aspirations positively. Despite initial resistance and lack of resources, he sets out to train these youngsters, offering them a new path away from crime and toward self-worth. Vijay forms a football team from the diverse, unpolished talents of these marginalized youth. The team faces numerous hurdles, from securing a practice ground to societal biases that cast them as "unworthy." However, Vijay's persistence and the determination of the team push them to rise above these obstacles. His coaching not only transforms the players’ lives but also brings attention to the untapped potential within India's slums. As the team grows, they challenge conventions and make an impression on the national sports scene, changing perceptions about social class and opportunity. Jhund is a moving commentary on resilience, unity, and the power of sports to create positive change, showing how a determined mentor and an unlikely team can redefine society’s view of success.
