Plot

Jaane Jaan, also released as Suspect X, is a gripping mystery thriller set in the small town of Kalimpong. The film revolves around Maya D'Souza (Kareena Kapoor Khan), a single mother who finds herself entangled in a murder. Maya, who leads a quiet life with her teenage daughter, faces danger when her abusive estranged husband reappears, threatening their safety. In a desperate act of self-defense, Maya ends up killing him. Her neighbor, the reclusive and brilliant mathematician Naren (Jaideep Ahlawat), witnesses the murder. Naren, who harbors a quiet, unspoken affection for Maya, steps in to help her cover up the crime with his cold, calculated mind. Using his intelligence, Naren creates an intricate plan to mislead the authorities and protect Maya and her daughter. However, things take a complex turn when Inspector Karan Anand (Vijay Varma), an old acquaintance of Maya, is assigned to investigate the case. As Karan draws closer to the truth, the film explores the psychological tension between the characters and their conflicting loyalties.
