Plot

Cobalt Blue centers on a complex love triangle that disrupts the lives of a conservative Maharashtrian family. The story follows Tanay (Dr. Neelay Mehendale), a sensitive, aspiring writer, and his sister Anuja (Anjali Sivaraman), who both live with their traditional family in a quiet town. When a free-spirited, charismatic lodger (Prateik Babbar) moves into their home, he quickly captures the fascination of both siblings. His mysterious charm and independence stir emotions and desires that neither Tanay nor Anuja has experienced before. Tanay, who feels isolated due to his unexpressed sexuality, finds an emotional and romantic connection with the lodger, leading to a secret love affair. Unbeknownst to him, Anuja also falls deeply for the same man, leading to her own set of hopes and dreams. The revelation of these relationships eventually shatters the family’s equilibrium, leaving Tanay and Anuja heartbroken and confused, as their love for the same person forces them to confront their individual identities and desires. Cobalt Blue delves into themes of love, betrayal, and self-discovery, exploring the emotional upheaval that ensues when family, tradition, and forbidden desires collide.
