Shazia Iqbal is an acclaimed filmmaker, production designer, and writer who has made significant contributions to the Indian film and advertising industry for over a decade[1][2]. After graduating in architecture, she left her office job to pursue her passion for storytelling[2][3]. Iqbal studied directing for films at MET Film School, Ealing Studios in London[2][3]. She has worked as a production designer on several notable projects, including the International Emmy-nominated Netflix series Sacred Games, the Emmy-nominated mini-series Lust Stories, and the feature film Mukkabaaz[2][3][4]. Iqbal's debut short film, Bebaak, won her the Best Debut Director and Audience Choice awards at the 35th Sao Paulo International Shorts Film Festival[2]. The film also received recognition at various other festivals, including the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, ShortShorts Film Festival & Asia in Tokyo, and the Chicago South Asian Film Festival[2]. Iqbal's feature film script, Chaplin, was selected for the NFDC Director's Lab and Mumbai Mantra Screenwriter's Lab[3].
