Manisha Koirala was born on August 16, 1970. She was previously married to Samrat Dahal from June 19, 2010, until their divorce in 2012.
Manisha Koirala is a renowned Nepalese actress celebrated for her contributions to Indian cinema, particularly in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films. Born into a politically influential family in Biratnagar, Nepal, she is the granddaughter of Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, a former Prime Minister of Nepal. Initially aspiring to be a doctor, Koirala shifted her focus to acting, making her debut in the Nepali film Pheri Bhetaula in 1989. Her breakthrough came with the Hindi film Saudagar in 1991, which was a major commercial success.
Throughout the 1990s, she starred in several critically acclaimed films, such as Bombay, Dil Se, and Gupt, earning multiple awards, including three Filmfare Awards. Despite facing personal challenges, including a battle with ovarian cancer, Koirala has remained a prominent figure in the film industry. She is also known for her philanthropic work, serving as a UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador and advocating for women's rights and health awareness.
