Konkona Sen Sharma is an acclaimed Indian actress known for her work in independent films. She is the daughter of filmmaker Aparna Sen. Sharma made her debut as a child artist in the 1983 film Indira and had her first leading role as an adult in the 2000 Bengali thriller Ek Je Aachhe Kanya. She gained recognition with the 2002 English film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer directed by her mother, for which she won the National Film Award for Best Actress.
