Plot

Chhaava is an upcoming Hindi-language historical epic that delves into the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji, the son of the great Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji. Based on the acclaimed Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant, the film portrays the tumultuous and courageous journey of Sambhaji (played by Vicky Kaushal), a leader who ascended the throne amidst political intrigue and external threats from the Mughal Empire. Sambhaji’s reign is marked by his fierce battles to protect the Maratha kingdom from Mughal invaders led by Emperor Aurangzeb. The film follows his struggles against betrayal, conspiracies, and the heavy burden of living up to his father’s legacy. Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubai, Sambhaji’s supportive wife, who stands by him through his trials as he strives to unite and strengthen the Maratha empire. Akshaye Khanna plays a trusted advisor and warrior, while Suniel Shetty portrays God Krishna Vasudev Yadav, an ally who represents the divine blessing and spiritual guidance in Sambhaji's mission.
